Wrap up for the Framework Big Sleep Out

Framework, Peppermint’s charity partner, provide a broad scope of support including accommodation, training and treatment services for homeless and vulnerable people across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire.

Hundreds of people will be sleeping rough for one night at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground to raise money for the homeless charity.

Framework fundraising manager, Andy Shields, said: “Our Big Sleep Out event gives people the opportunity to experience rough sleeping on a single night in a safe and secure location, and to better understand what the most vulnerable homeless people go through every single night.”

The Peppermint team are very proud to be taking part. Sarah Lea, a Senior Customer Support Analyst, comments “Homelessness is a really important issue to try and tackle. The UK is one of the richest countries in the world, but 1 in 200 people are sleeping rough, so it’s something I would like to try and help to change.”

Maryanne Orchard, our Business Coordinator, says ”It’s going to be quite a challenge given the weather we’ve been having of late, but for many homeless people this is a way of life, so this is a great way for people to raise awareness of the issue and help Framework to tackle it.”

The event is Framework’s biggest annual fundraising event and all funds raised will go towards tackling rough sleeping in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire; getting people off the streets, supporting them into accommodation and empowering them to live stable, independent lives.
